How to Download and Install Windows 11 Developers Preview

If you are the one who is always updated with all the tech-related news then you must be aware that Windows 11 is scheduled to be launched somewhere around October 2021. Even though there is still some time in the official release but Microsoft has recently introduced a beta build of Windows 11 which is also known as the developer’s preview. Here we are going to tell you how you can download and install Windows 11 developers preview easily without facing any complications.

Windows 11 Developers Preview- Hardware Requirements

Before moving further on to the download and installation process, you need to know about the basic hardware requirements for Windows 11.

The two major hardware requirements are CPU and TPM 2.0 which needs to be fulfilled by the users in order to download the developer’s preview for Windows 11.

There is only one exception to this limit which is for the users who are installing builds from the Dev Channel. All these users will be exempted from the minimum hardware requirement otherwise it is mandatory for all because Microsoft is focusing majorly on security this time.

Steps to Download and Install Windows 11 Developers Preview

Now comes the steps to download and install Windows 11 Developers Preview –

  1. The first thing that you need to do here is to signup for the Windows Insider program. You will be able to access it either through the official website or through the Windows settings.
  2. As you try to signup for this program, you will be asked to agree to the Terms & Conditions here which warns you about the certain issues with this beta program. Once you’ve agreed to it, you will be able to successfully signup for the program.
  3. For those who are signing up through the settings need to first head to the settings of their computer. In the settings, you will see “updates & security” option, you need to tap on that to move further.
  4. In the Updates & Security section, you will see Windows Insider Program and right below its description, there is an option to “Get Started”.
  5. Once you click on Get Started, you will be asked to agree to the Terms & Conditions which are same to what it has been shown on the website. Without agreeing to them, you will not be able to download the preview.
  6. Now your next step will be to sign in to your Microsoft Account. You will have to sign in to that account only which has been already enrolled for the Insider Program.
  7. As you’ve signed in to your account, you will be asked to select the channel. You can select any one of them that is suitable to you but we advice you to choose the Dev Channel as it enables access to Windows 11 builds. Once selected, it will ask you to reboot the device.
  8. Once your device has been successfully rebooted, you need to head to the Settings of your device again. In the settings, go to the “update & security”section and from there tap on “Windows Insider Program”. Here just double check that it is showing the Dev Channel and then go back to the Update & Security section.
  9. Now in the Windows Update section, click on “Check for Updates” and then download. Now you do not have to do anything else as Windows 11 Developers Preview will be downloaded and installed successfully to your device.
